A great red from the territory. An important bottle that is good today but also has significant ageing potential. Austere, elegant, it will probably reach its peak between 5 and 10 years after harvesting. But for those who have the patience and perseverance to keep it properly for longer, they will certainly enjoy a memorable bottle even in 15 or 20 years. Magno, Barbaresco DOCG by Sansilvestro, is made from a blend of Nebbiolo grapes from different communes in the Barbaresco appellation. Matured in large Slavonian oak casks and then in the bottle, this wine has a beautiful ruby red colour with garnet highlights. Bouquet rich in scents, reminiscent of red fruits and spices. Ethereal Barbaresco, with balsamic notes, elegant and persistent with an excellent structure. Whether uncorked today or in a few years' time, to do justice to this wine it should undoubtedly be paired with important dishes such as pheasant, pigeon or ossobuco. It is also perfect as a meditation wine, paired with a simple board of well-aged cheeses.

The Sansilvestro winery is located in Novello, in the heart of the Langa del Barolo. A beautiful story, that of Giovanni Sartirano, who in 1871 began his activity in the world of wine. More than a century later, Paolo and Guido carry on the family traditions with wisdom and respect. They are now the fourth generation at the helm. The story of Sansilvestro is one of investment in the future, with a careful eye to not losing sight of the teachings of the ancestors. After all, the company is deeply identified with the Piedmontese territory. It works with traditional vines, such as Barbera, Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, Grignolino, Arneis, Cortese and Moscato. But we have also chosen to invest in the promotion of recently rediscovered native grape varieties, such as Favorita and Nascetta di Novello. Today, thanks to close collaboration with vine growers, Sansilvestro is able to offer a range of wines that touches on all areas of Piedmont's viticultural excellence, from Gavi to Barbaresco, passing through the Asti area and Barolo.
